Community Planning

(Estrada Land Planning. Inc. projects)

Euclid Market Neighborhood Plan  –  Community members hired Estrada Land Planning to help them create an alternative land use plan that could be incorporated into an update to the existing, official Community Plan.  A major part of the process was to educate community leaders in planning terminology, so they could continue to promote their vision in discussions with local politicians and city staff.  The plan designates areas for mixed-use neighborhood centers and includes recommendations for equitable development.

Encanto Urban Design  –  Based on input from six community workshops, Estrada Land Planning developed design guidelines and a pedestrian and bicycle network plan for the Encanto neighborhoods in San Diego.  Participants, armed with disposable cameras, recorded aspects that they liked and did not like in their environment.  Reactions from workshop participants along with the comments from the original photographers became the values from which we developed the design guidelines.
